Working with Grammy-winning Nashville producer Vance Powell who has worked with artist such as Jack White — the band has done it yet again with the release of another powerful, fun and classic Clutch album that we have come to love and expect. This is one band that has really held true to their sound over the years and I give them much respect for doing just that.

Frontman Neil Fallon takes us for a wild ride through each track of the album with that grungy and dirty rock sound that is pure Clutch. In my personal opinion as a long-time Clutch fan I felt that some of the tracks do feel that they just keep going and never end and almost mash together and then other tracks really stand out with an eclectic mix of music and instruments… sometimes bands should remember that more is not always better. Nevertheless, even with some of the odd tracks the rest of the album is awesome and the band really takes pride and shows their true passion to deliver the sound and music that is Clutch.

I think the approach to this album was different especially working with Vance from their previous album Psychic Warfare However even with the slightly different flavor to this I still enjoyed the album and first-look at fan ratings seem to be showing the same take on the album too….if you are a fan of the band you’ll like this album too.

Formed in 2010 and hailing from the Detroit area music scene Wayland, named for their home town of Wayland, MI which is actually closer to Lake Michigan, than Detroit drops their first studio album, Rinse and Repeat with Kiefer Sutherland’s record label, yes, the 24 guy, Iron Works Records.

Before getting the album in hand I heard the track Through The Fire and really enjoyed and thought this single had a lot of potential for air play and couldn’t wait to hear the rest.  The album, Rinse and Repeat, is nothing short of a great energetic and solid album.  It is well produced and Wayland’s sound really stands out — you can hear everything from today’s rock styles to classic rock like Led Zepplin come across in their music…even some Southern rock sounds came across which made me question.. where are they from again.

The album , which drops on September 22, 2017, is also not just straight up rock the whole time. Wayland slows things down on a few of the track with almost ballad like introductions on the tracks Back to Life and Follow – while other tracks could be straight up party songs for sure like All Rise and The Brave Don’t Run.

If you like bands like Devour the Day, Shaman’s Harvest, and Egypt Central you will almost certainly like Wayland’s album too. This band and album as huge potential with a sound that truly delivers a great album and we are also looking forward to checking Wayland out when the come to town too. If they put on a good live show and sound just like the album — it’s going to be a great performance!

Hard rockers Bobaflex drop their 8th studio album, Eloquent Demons, and it’s nothing short of awesome.  I was first introduced to the band around 2005 with the release of Apologize for Nothing and have been a fan ever since.  The album dropped on August 25th, 2017 and is their first release with Thermal Entertainment.  The first radio single was a cover of Pink Floyd’s Hey You (video above) – which is an awesome cover for those who enjoy harder rock version of classic rock songs. (sorry to date some of you an call Pink Floyd classic) and The second single “Long Time Coming”  hot the air earlier in the month.

While the band seems as if they are always on the road, with more than 150 shows alone in 2016!! SHeesh! I guess it I guess that gives them good time to collaborate, write, and test out new material — it’s just the matter of when do they have time to record? I guess they find it as the album sounds great and tracks are tight! Eloquent Demons delivers a diverse mix of music which holds true to the Bobaflex sound and style. From straight-up hard rock to slower more melodic tracks. I will say there are plenty of track on this album that just rock..two of my favorites are Long Time Coming and the last track on the album Reckless — I can easily see this as another single that gets a lot of airplay.

Bobaflex is one of those bands that continues to deliver great music and not one of those bands you think — oh they are still around?
