I have had small steamers in the past that I would use around the house for basic cleaning, steaming shirts, and even used it to remove some wallpaper. These small pot steamers were small and to do a big job you were constantly waiting for it to cool down so you could open it.  I guess in a way it was ok for small jobs around or smaller condo but now with three kids and a larger home I needed something bigger to tackle the upcoming bigger jobs.  Wallpaper removal (my favorite! — not), cleaning the bathrooms, kitchen, and even using it outdoors too.

My biggest headache for wallpaper removal was not having a big enough area on the steamer to place against the wall leading to all small little sports coming up. The Wagner Power Steamer which can be found online and in many box stores — looked to be the perfect solution for my upcoming projects.  It offers a large water chamber, multiple accessories attachments, a large steaming surface pad for projects like wallpaper removal and it’s on wheel’s too — awesome!

What’s in the box:
In the box you will find   handle/pistol rest, two extension tubes, window/tile squeegee, floor cleaning head and pad, wallpaper steam plate, and an 8-foot steam hose and funnel.

I think it was more frustrating to take all the packaging out of the box then it was to put it together as you can see in our Wagner Steamer unboxing video. Attaching accessories was pretty easy and there really was not much assembly beside of switching out to what accessory you needed for the job.

Keep in mind with almost all steamers it’s recommended to use distilled water instead of tap water to reduce the amount of buildup in the machine.. and trust me you can see the difference in machines between tap and distilled — all that white buildup from tap water gets pretty gross after a while.

The 915 Wagner steamer was easy to setup, easy to use, and did a great job on most of the projects — especially cleaning things like floors and tiles. I will say that the steamer was a bit too powerful when doing project like windows and mirrors — I had a lot of run away water.  This was also the case when using it to steam and remove the wallpaper border.  It provided great steam surface area but the water had no where to go but down the wall.  It wasn’t enough to cause any problems on the drywall but if you have plaster in your home you should just be aware of this in addition to covering any flooring that could get wet.

Take Away:
Offering 1500 watts, a .4 gallon capacity, and a 45 minute run time this steamer is really a work horse and bright yellow (you can’t loose it) It allowed me to easily go from project to project with plenty of steam power and the cost is really not that much more than the of the steam pots on the marketing which do not provide the power like the Wagner Power Steamer

Very power steamer that is versatile and good for many jobs around the house although sometime a bit too powerful on small jobs with not enough control precision.

  • Large water tank
  • A good amount of accessories
  • Mobile and easy to use
  • Sometimes spray is too powerful
  • A lot of dripping water on small jobs
